Imagine being without a bed or a sofa, or even just some pans to cook your food with. It may seem unimaginable to you, but in reality, there are many people in Northampton and the surrounding villages that are without many essential items for their home. We are here to provide help for these people by providing second hand furniture and household items.
We’re praying that this virus which has kept families, schools, workplaces and churches apart will continue to get pushed back. We’re pleased to let you know that Spencer Contact will remain open through the current lockdown but with only 1 member of staff working instead of the usual 7. In light of the Prime Ministers announcement we have had to take the difficult decision to cease collections and deliveries in order to keep staff and customers safe.
We plan to recommence deliveries and collections as soon as restrictions are lifted, although due to changes in working practices the number that we can do each day will be restricted for a period of time, this unfortunately will mean longer waiting times for customers, please bear with us over this period. We will also be prioritising customers that we had to postpone due to the lockdown. Once deliveries and collections recommence, we would ask that if we are due to deliver to or collect from you that you notify us immediately if anyone in your household is showing symptoms of coronavirus, has tested positive or been told to self-isolate. We also politely request that you wear a mask and socially distance yourselves when our drivers/delivery persons visit your property
We are currently unable to accept donations of furniture or household items at our warehouse. Please note that we can only accept items that we can re-use. If you have any of the following items please keep hold of them if possible and we would be happy to accept them once restrictions are lifted: –
Mattresses (stain free and in good condition)
Duvets & pillows (clean and stain free)
If you telephone the office and it is answered by voicemail we apologise for this but ask that you please bear with us. We would be grateful if you could leave your name and telephone number and Steve will endeavour to call you back. With a shortness of staff we will make every effort to answer calls as they come in but may not always be able to achieve this.
We are working hard to get back to ‘normal’ and our priority remains as it always has ‘to help those who are in need in this town of Northampton’. Please continue to support the work of Spencer Contact as we need this now as much as ever.
Thank you and God Bless You
